Modern Warfare 2: Prestige Edition Hits the Charts – Holy Crap!

I was just buzzing around on Amazon.com (AMZN) looking around for some cheap Xbox 360 games and saw this:

MW2 SnipYes, Activision’s (ATVI) Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition is the best-selling Xbox 360 title on Amazon, and the 13th best-selling video-game product overall. That’s simply astounding for a $149.99 game that doesn’t come with enough music gear to outfit a full (virtual) band. Modern Warfare 2 is also the #1 Xbox 360 game on GameStop.com! The recession’s undoubtedly taken its toll on hardware sales, but this shows that the right games will always be in high demand.

One factor driving the strong demand for the $149.99 prestige edition is the night-vision goggles. They’re just so much more bad-ass than the cat helmet included with Halo 3:

Umm, are you still impressed by the 600,000 downloads of EA’s Battlefield 1943?
