Steve Jobs Talks Apple Tablet… …Sort Of

by Michael Comeau on January 25, 2010

TechCrunch is reporting that Steve Jobs loves the Apple Tablet or Pad or Slate or whatever it is. Apparently, somebody’s best friend’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with the girl who overheard Steve Jobs say “This will be the most important thing I’ve ever done” at 31 Flavors.

I guess it’s pretty serious.

Now I’m going to take one issue with this quote – the fact that it does not have the alleged product’s name in it. Maybe I’m reading a little too much into this, but you’d think that anyone quoting Steve Jobs would be spilling something with the product’s name in it. Like:

“The iTablet will be the most important thing I’ve ever done.”

or

“The iSlate is the best product Apple has ever made”

But no. All we get is “it.”

Again, I may be reading WAY too much into this. I’m just getting sick of an entire tech journalism cabal that’s obsessed with a product that may not even exist. Not that I’m innocent – I’ve written plenty about the tablet, and even spoke extensively about it on my appearance on Frank Curzio’s podcast.

But there’s an important question we need to consider – what if the Tablet doesn’t even exist?

Will the world turn inside out? Will we rip a hole in the space-time continuum?

I don’t know, but I’m scared. MOMMY!

In reply to the first writer at the top…Yo Dude, get a life. Stop smoking weed. THE iTABLET IS REAL..!! Only have to wait till the 27th to confirm the fact and dispel your jitters. Lean back, relax, eat some health-food, go for a walk, take a cold shower.
AND then put your money on the line and buy yourself a brand new iTablet or whatever they will call it…perhaps the name will be smart enough to create some excitement all on its own.
